What We Do

L.I.F.E., Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit enterprise that teaches life skills to inmates in the county and state prisons of Pennsylvania.  The program focuses on spiritual and developmental growth and on successful re-entry to society.  Transforming the inmates thought lives  and beliefs from criminal thinking to responsible biblical thinking is the theme of our life-giving program!

The L.I.F.E. curriculum is a six-part series of re-entry skills teaching men and women how to live under and obey authority, create a healthy work ethic, live and love as disciples of Christ, speak effectively in all occasions, as well as other character-changing skills.

The program provides character-building skills, coping skills, and lessons in maturity in the activities of daily life, preparation of the mind, body, and spirit prior to release.

Tremendous Life Book Club

The beauty of owning and reading your own personal books is that you get to talk to all the great minds that have ever lived. And you get to have them speak to you in a very personal and insightful way.

In the Tremendous Life Book Club, inmates find themselves learning things for the first time, or unlearning things they had always just assumed. This process not only develops reading skills, but, enhances their ability to think critically and apply lessons learned in everyday life.

The Tremendous Life Book Club was established in the state prisons for those inmates who had graduated the L.I.F.E. curriculum.  Director Marcia Sinkovitz and Dr. Tracey Jones founded the club at SCI Camp Hill and took its success to other SCIs where each month a favorite book had been read and in a group setting was discussed.

Substance Abuse Victorious

Our SAV Program is the SUBSTANCE ABUSE: VICTORIOUS program that addresses all addictions and compulsive behaviors.  To be totally free in Christ is the victory and it is only He Who can help us achieve it through the work of the Holy Spirit.

The study and application of the SAV program brings motivated men and women to the Cross whereby every addiction and compulsive behavior - ranging from drugs, alcoholic, shopping, gambling, and so much more – can be conquered and every soul set free.  John 8:36 says it best: “Who the Son sets free is free indeed!”

The SAV course is a 12-week course written for and designed specifically for the inmate who has been plagued with addictive behaviors.  This outreach goes beyond the usually-mandated AA or NA program. Jesus Christ is our Supreme Being.

As always, our curriculum is offered in English and Spanish, and facilitated by dedicated Christian volunteer-missionaries.
